Mediterranean interior design as well as the Mizner style architecture.

Interior design of a Traditional Mediterranean - Mizner style Dining Room -

As an Interior Decorator, I believe that each room has specific requirements. For instance, the dining room should have an element of interior architecture to be viewed from each side of the dining table, creating a beautiful backdrop for you and each guest.

This Traditional Mediterranean Dining Room is an excellent example of utilizing each architectural surface.

Firstly, I added the flanking coral rock columns at the entrance with the old world Faux Finish arches and distressed walls.

My interior design inspiration came from this Mediterranean style mosaic medallion made from small semi-precious stones, centered in the Trompe L'oeil arch.

Custom Drapery inTraditional Mediterranean Dining Room

I designed these luxurious crushed blue velvet drapes to frame the French doors. They are hung on custom-made brackets to match the chandelier's antique gold acanthus leaf design and surrounded by the Tromp L'oeil arch.

To give the dining room a more Modern Mediterranean decor, I incorporated large squares of beveled mirrors in the existing niche and added matching acanthus leaf antique gold sconces.

I think the mirrored niche adds some sparkle and light
to the Dining Room Decor while reflecting the entire room.

Traditional Home Interior Architectural Elements

As I explain to my clients that we need to consider the ceiling as the fifth wall, we must understand that the floor is the sixth surface, so rarely do I get the chance to match the floor and ceiling with the same pattern.

Many of my interior architectural elements consist of a rectangle with inverted rounded corners. Using this pattern, I matched the ceiling soffit with individual gold-leaf squares and raised plaster accents in the inverted corners, and the floors have a natural stone tile framed by dark rich wood flooring.
